Alligator Bioscience was founded in 2000, and will be finally established as a company in Q4 2001 after a merger with Alligator Holding where all of Alligator Bioscience´s rights and obligations will be assumed by Alligator Holding, Alligator Bioscience in its present form will be dissolved, and Alligator Holding will change its name to Alligator Bioscience. Alligator Bioscience´s business idea is to develop and market optimised proteins for selected segments of the market through the use of the FINDTM technology and complementing technology. The basis for the FINDTM technology is to alter and improve proteins through bringing about changes in the DNA, mixing the changed DNA into new and novel combinations, and thereby obtaining new proteins with unique properties i.e. increased stability at temperatures used in various industrial processes. The technology can also be used to improve already existing proteins functions and characteristics used for industrial and medical purposes. The market segments (business areas) for the FINDTM technology are industrial enzymes, diagnostic applications within medicine, the use of proteins in drugs and vaccines, and agriculture.
